Curiosidade do dia

Recomendo vivamente a leitura de "Listening to the Scientists" onde Roger Martin.

Roger Martin critica a recomendação genérica de "Listen to the Scientists". A sua tese não é que o conhecimento científico seja inútil, mas que a ciência não produz verdades definitivas, nem que o título de especialista torne alguém infalível, desinteressado ou competente fora do seu domínio.

O autor utiliza a gestão da pandemia como exemplo, para atacar três mensagens:

1) Science is Truth

3) Don't Think

"The message is don’t think about it, simply trust the scientific experts and do what you are told. Thinking could have “serious consequences.” Roll that around in your head: don’t think because it could be dangerous!"

Martin sustenta que especialistas, autoridades e empresas farmacêuticas podem exagerar a certeza do seu conhecimento, defender interesses próprios e desencorajar perguntas legítimas.
