"Futurização" das organizações (parte V) ou "Onde queremos estar?"

Os últimos conselhos que retiro do livro de Thomas McLaughlin (“Nonprofit Strategic Positioning – Decide Where to Be, Plan What to Do”), mais uma vez acerca da futurização das organizações:

“WHERE DO YOU WANT TO BE?
1. Create or reaffirm your mission.

2. Scan your future. Stand at the front door of your organization and look outside… Break your future into seven distinct elements, and examine the trends in each one:
a. The NEED or demand for the type of service you offer…
b. The population – USERS – you choose to serve…
c. Your chosen GEOGRAPHY
d. Your COMPETITORS…
e. Your FUNDERS…
f. Your LABOR force…
g. The role of special ASSETS in providing your services…

3. Scan your internal strengths… Examine the services you offer. What’s your service model? Under what circumstances does it work best? Research the users of your service. Revisit your assumptions about geography. Research your funders and what they like about you. Why do you fit with their motivations, capacities, and so forth? Study your labor force with a clear eye. What special assets do you already have that are helpful in the delivery of your services?

4. Decide where you want to be in 5-10 years. Compare your future trends with your strengths and decide where you want to be with respect to each of your future trends in 5-10 years. This is the essence of your strategic position.”

Amanhã a resposta à pergunta “WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO DO TO GET WHERE YOU WANT TO BE?
