Curiosidade do dia

Ouvimos e lemos há dias sobre o encerramento de uma fábrica da VW em Dresden na Alemanha. Julgo que estes números que mão amiga me fez chegar ajudam a explicar muito do que se passa no norte da Europa:
"€0.287/kWh in Belgium.
€0.075/kWh in the United States.
€0.082/kWh in China.

That's not a temporary gap. That's a 283% cost penalty vs. the US. 250% vs. China.

And it's driving the largest industrial exodus Belgium has seen in decades. 14,100 manufacturing jobs lost since January 2023 (Belgian industrial employment data, 2024).
Van Hool: Bankrupt. 1,600 jobs gone.
Audi Brussels: Closed February 2025. 3,000 jobs eliminated.
Vehicle production: Down 25.7% in 2024.
Industrial output: Third consecutive year of decline (-1.4%).

This isn't about competitiveness anymore. It's about survival."
