It's the system...

Some time ago I exchanged a couple of e-mails with our common friend Trevor, we realized that we were using different words to express the same set of basic principles.
I truly believe that there are no terrorists inside our organizations, there are no Bin Laden’s followers, that conspire to make things broke in our organizations, to get the current performance.
It is fundamental to win the harts and minds of people, in order to be able to execute a needed change, a necessary transformation… one cannot do nothing against the people. But it is not reasonable to expect that whips and carrots alone will change the outcome of a system, without changing the system. It is not fair to people, most of the time they will be under a tremendous amount of stress fighting against the system itself, just to try to get the desired outcomes.
