Curiosidade do dia

"Three former senior executives from Rolls-Royce have created a microgrid energy start-up to deliver safe and reliable off-grid power to large energy users, including data centres, electric vehicle supercharging hubs, hospitals and industrial sites.
...
They have recognised the "massive increasing gap between grid capacity and demand" as the power infrastructure struggles under the pressure of rapidly growing energy consumption, driven by AI, cloud computing and electrification.
Data centre developers in the UK are seeking to connect to gas pipelines and build their own gas-fired power plants because of capacity constraints that cause delays of up to a decade in connecting to the grid.
...
Microgrids use a number of distributed energy sources, such as solar panels, battery farms and wind turbines, "all linked together on smart control". Traditional microgrid management systems struggle to process the vast volumes of data generated by grid components but the next-generation technologies used by Floral Energy make them more responsive to fluctuations such as power outages.
Al, digital twinning and machinelearning systems monitor, forecast and automatically balance power from renewables, storage and direct generation to meet demand.
...
He added that Floral Energy "will change the game for distributed energy" and "achieve the very high reliability required for data centres and other high-intensity users today, while having built-in readiness for the technologies of tomorrow, including nuclear".
